An Honorable Send-Off for PSP by the Ex-Boss of Playstation
Though the PSP didn't attain the extraordinary popularity of the Nintendo DS, it was still a memorable handheld device. Many gamers, including myself, have fond recollections of it.
Shawn Layden, a former PlayStation executive, has officially marked the end of the console's era, a substantial nine years after production ceased. In a brief Twitter/X post, Layden displayed a PSP bearing the inscription "In memory of PSP last production".
The total number of units produced is also etched on it. Over its lifespan, an impressive 82.5 million PSPs were sold globally. While it appears there won't be a successor to the PSP or PSVita, it doesn't diminish the value of the classic games we enjoyed on the handheld console.
