Reimagined Magic: A New Museum Adventure Unfolds

This project introduces a fresh take on the familiar museum adventure, igniting excitement among those who loved the original series. Preparations are underway for a new installation by 21 Laps for 20th Century Fox, with the project headed into production under the guidance of Tripper Clancy, who is developing an original storyline.

The updated version will unfold within the museum walls, featuring a completely new set of characters to engage audiences. Shawn Levy, well-known for directing the previous three installments, is on board as a producer, joining forces with Dan Levine to bring this reimagined narrative to life.

The earlier films were sparked by the 1993 children’s book by Milan Trenc, and the 2009 film saw Ben Stiller in the role of a night guard who encountered astonishing occurrences when the exhibits came alive after dark. The saga not only delighted audiences through its sequels but also amassed over a billion dollars in total box office revenue. Although it remains uncertain if Ben Stiller or any of the original ensemble will make a return, the new version’s focus on a reimagined plot leaves room for a fresh cast and new characters to redefine the legacy.
