Honor 200 Series Update Introduces Circle to Search Feature and Enhances Security with October Patch
Recent developments in smartphone technology are always exciting, particularly when they enhance user experience through innovative features. The newest update for the Honor 200 series reflects this by incorporating beneficial functionality and security upgrades that align with modern expectations.
The latest update for the Honor 200 series is now live in India, introducing the much-anticipated Circle to Search capability. This RM3 version is an over-the-air (OTA) update for both the Honor 200 5G and Honor 200 Pro 5G models. In addition to the new AI feature, it brings along the October 2024 Google security patch and performance improvements. Although the Circle to Search feature was previously announced for the series, it hadn't been made available in India until now.
Google's Circle to Search debuted with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and was later integrated into the Pixel 8 series. While it has been extended to additional Samsung and Pixel models, other manufacturers did not have this feature prior to this update. However, recent statements from the tech giant indicate plans to roll out this visual lookup capability to a wider range of smartphones within the Android ecosystem.
The RM3 update also focuses on bolstering performance and security for the Honor 200 series. The incorporation of the October 2024 Google security patch is designed to shield devices from potential cybersecurity threats. Furthermore, users are now enabled to record audio during screen capture sessions. They can select from three different recording resolutions: 480p, 720p, and 1080p.
The inclusion of the Circle to Search visual lookup tool enables users to effortlessly perform web searches based on any visible visual elements on their screens. This functionality extends to the ability to extract and copy text from images, helping to translate text across various languages as needed.
The RM3 update for the Honor 200 series is expected to reach all users by October 31. To download and implement the update, users should navigate to the Settings section and select System & updates. Following this, tapping on software update will allow them to check for new updates, which can then be downloaded and installed.
